What insurances are accepted at Kindcare Pediatric Center?

We accept all medicaid HMO insurances, including straight medicaid and most private HMO and PPO plans. Regarding HMO plans Kindcare Pediatric must be the assigned provider. If insurance information is incorrect or the wrong provider is assigned, you will be responsible for any unpaid claims, if not corrected in a timely fashion. If you have any questions regarding our in-network status, including co pays and deductibles, contact member services to verify plan benefits. Co pays are due prior to seeing the physician.


Are newborns covered?

Most insurance plans provide 30 to 60 days coverage under mother’s insurance, if the insurance is notified of patient’s birth. This insurance ends on the 29th or 59th day of coverage. During this time you must process the newborn’s insurance. Some insurances provide temporary ID cards for newborns. Well child 2 month visit and immunizations will not be covered by mother’s insurance benefits.


Do you accept self pay?

We accept self paying patients, fees can be provided upon request. We also provide payment plans, noncompliance of payment plans will result in additional fees.


Do you accept payments online?

Patient portal will soon become available and have access to payment of pending balances.


Where do you have hospital privileges?

Currently our physicians have privileges at St Joseph Hospital, Paterson, NJ and St Mary’s Hospital, Passaic, NJ.


Until what age are children accept to your office?

We accept children from birth through age 21, some insurances until the age of 18. Children under the age of 18, must be accompanied by an approved caregiver to all appointments. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the patient for their first office visit.


What forms are required for the first visit?

We encourage the following documents and information on the first visit: parent identification, insurance cards, immunization records, name and telephone of prior primary care physician, birth and family history, medication names and doses, discharge newborn forms including newborn screening slip, hearing test results. Any patient with significant medical issues must have medical documentation available prior to visit.


How are appointments scheduled?

Sick, follow up and Well Child visits can be scheduled, with our friendly front desk staff on a daily basis. We also accept same day appointments within office hours. Walk in during office hours are accepted but scheduled appointments will take priority, therefore we highly recommend calling, since we do provide same day appointments.


Do you provide lab services?

We provide on site lab services, Self paying patients will receive a separate bill for lab services from rendering lab. Discount plans are available for self paying patients.


What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments must be canceled 24 hours in advance and same day appointments within 2 hours of appointment time. Please note that there is a $10 charge for no-shows and late cancellations.


What is your policy regarding referrals/ prior authorizations?

Referrals and prior authorizations must be requested 3 days prior to appointment via phone call and you must provide specialist information for referral. Parents are responsible for scheduling appointments, if presenting difficulty in scheduling, the parent must contact the office for further resources. Non compliance in treatment recommendations may result in termination. You must also request relevant medical information, such as lab results, radiology reports, treatment summary, growth charts etc, prior to scheduled specialist appointments.


What is your policy for completion of forms?

Forms ( school, camp, WIC, work, sports etc) must be submitted 3-5 days prior to deadline. If forms need to be expedited ( within 24-48) a 5.00 fee will be charged.


What is your policy for record transfer?

We must receive a written consent form, immunization records are free, each additional page has a $0.50 per page charge. We only transfer records pertaining to services provided at Kindcare Pediatric Center. If records are transferred directly to new provider, no charge will be incurred.
